Jean-François Delon, new President of the Syndicat Viticole of Saint-Estèphe.
At the end of its Administrative Council meeting on Wednesday, November 24, the Syndicat Viticole de Saint-Estèphe unanimously elected its new President, Jean-François Delon. The 52-year-old winegrower, owner of Château Ségur de Cabanac, embodies the values of the family estate, which is very well represented in the Saint-Estèphe appellation, and he and his team intend to continue the unifying work of his predecessors, Basile Tesseron and Bernard Audoy.
Jean-François Delon has been involved in the commune for many years as a member of the Syndicat's office and is well known and appreciated by the people of Saint-Estephe. He comes from an old family of winegrowers in Saint-Estèphe - his grandfather was the owner of Château Phélan-Ségur and his father Guy Delon founded in the 1980s the châteaux Moulin de la Rose in Saint-Julien and Ségur de Cabanac in Saint-Estèphe - and he now manages the two family properties. The new President's mission is to continue the work undertaken by his predecessors, Basile Tesseron (2019-2021) and Bernard Audoy (1998-2019), with the priority of continuing to develop the reputation of Saint-Estèphe wines by focusing on a roadmap concerning the image of the appellation, the environment, wine tourism, new markets and the new generation. A team effort that he intends to carry out with the members of the board.
