Château
La Haye
H for Henri II, King of France from 1547 to 1559. D for Diane de Poitiers, who was the King’s mistress for more than twenty years. The intertwined initials were engraved into the stone of the Château. They evoke the legend that the estate was used as a meeting place for hunting and passion for the two lovers. The legend does not say whether they drank La Haye wine, but the monogram is now printed on the property’s labels.
